Overkill: Men At Work, Cargo
It was not the album from the 80-‘s that inspired me with this song. One night I was randomly looking at funny clips from different shows on youtube, and there was an episode of Scrubs where this was featured. Colin Hay from Men At Work was following people around and showing up unexpectedly performing this song on an acoustic guitar. What struck me was how the same song can sound so completely different when the arrangement is altered.
I watched the original version from MTv, then watched the episode from Scrubs and what a difference. I wouldn’t really give the original much attention, but the acoustic version really grabbed at me. The words really seem to get drowned out in the original as well. But when it’s just Colin and a guitar- it makes all the difference in the world. Beautiful.
